WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Boat waves and propeller wash contribute to soil erosion which increases phosphorous in the lake and further degrades water quality.
• In 2026, MKLPA is implementing Wake Boat zones in Lake Minocqua and Lake Kawaguesaga where Wake Boats can operate with minimal damage to the lakebed and shorelines. Zones will be 500 feet from the shoreline and in greater than 20 feet of water.
• Ignoring no-wake zones and boater safety rules can cause severe damage to natural shorelines through erosion and habitat destruction.
