Invasive plants, animals and pests are taking a toll on Wisconsin’s lakes, rivers and landscapes. Starter fertilizers are allowed to contain phosphorus; but nitrogen is another element in fertilizer that stimulates aquatic plant growth. We continue to work with the WDNR to slow the spread of invasive species.
